A once-rescued orphan and a man of his words, who serves under The Acolytes as one of its weapons: Genesis.

Personality

At first glance, Ian is seen as a charming and confident person. The man greets with a smile, introducing his friendly and approachable side. His posture, however, shows his firm and decisive character. Once he gets to know someone, he shows more of his hospitality. One might even think that he could be a little too careless from his first impression.

During serious occasions, he holds his basic values and beliefs firmly. He would give his words compact elaboration upon explaining his mind in discussions, and includes his moral values and knowledge as much as possible in his decision-making and missions. One might say that he's hard-headed, but he actually listens to others' opinions. Well, as long as it does not go against his principles.

Speaking about his beliefs, despite being chosen to carry the virtue of Chastity, Ian never thinks of himself as the most virtuous person. Let alone as a saint. This is a result of his childhood. However, as he carries the duty, he strives to be closer to being one. He believes that this world could be a better place if people are to do good, and a person could be so much better if they are to follow the right path.

When something is against his principles, or when he strongly dislikes something, this is where his bad side comes. When he is truly at fault, he will not hesitate to correct himself, obviously. However, when the opposing idea is the natural opposite of his own, especially as a virtue, the man could make people turn their backs from what he sees ill. He may persuade one to agree with his opinions, making others believe that his words are true. To a certain extent, he may use manipulative strategies to fulfill his goals, for what he sees necessary for a better world.

Of course, he will not use such a way often, nor for his own good.

BIRTH
Ian's birth could be considered an unfortunate event. The moment he breathed, he was considered a living taboo around his home; He was an illegitimate son, born from a pitiful young mother and a lustful sly man.

Long story short, his mother and his father were supposed to be a pair of lovers. Or so how his mother dreamed them to be, as his father was, apparently, a womanizer with a sickening hobby of toying women.
Long story short, his father left after the accidental pregnancy, and soon after, his mother fell into poverty while being left alone in such a disaster. Nine months passed, and she became a single parent for Ian.

Even after the humiliation and tragedy, Ian's mother was a saint. She loved Ian, and she was willing to work so hard for both of them. Her kindness and determination led her to raise Ian as an angelic young boy.

CHILDHOOD

Ian's family was small. His mother had quite a few friends who were willing to help both of them in surviving. Their wealth was enough for their daily life, so there was no problem in his household. The other neighbors, however, brought different challenges for them.

As he was known to be an illegitimate son from an immoral man, there were gossip and rumors about him and his mother. Being called an unwanted son was not a rare thing for Ian's ears. At a certain point, young Ian did suffer from those, seeing himself as filthy and unworthy.

This was where his mother protected him a lot. Not only by showering Ian with kindness, but she also tried her best to prove the rumors wrong. Slowly, yet surely, the rumors ceased, and their life turned for the better. Ian's mother became his first role model.

THE ORPHANAGE

Around the age of 13, Ian's mother fell ill. During that hard time, she had friends to help her get medication and take care of Ian. However, she passed not long after, leaving Ian by himself. When his relatives couldn't take him in, one of his mother's friends, who was a caretaker at an orphanage, offered him a place in this very orphanage, at least until he could manage on his own.

Ian's life was quite better in the orphanage. His mother's friend became a father figure for him. He was taught various things, and more through his self-study at the library in the orphanage. His friends were a lot nicer.

During this time, as his father figure was religious, he was taught about the concept of being chaste. Believing that this was truly the right path he should walk on, Ian followed his father figure's beliefs.

Years after he started living at the orphanage, Ian grew up to be a fine, chaste man. He also started to do good deeds on his own, such as participating in charity events, serving social communities, and such. He learned how to be a sociable man.

And in the meantime, as years passed, he learned that the orphanage that he had been living in had a strong connection to the Acolytes. Long before he learned about the Acolytes, however, the Acolytes themselves had heard of him. It didn't take long until he received the offer to become the vessel of Chastity.

THE VESSEL OF CHASTITY
The offer given by the Acolytes did cost something to accept. That included his life as an ordinary orphan. Ian, at that time, accepted the offer willingly. He saw the opportunity as a chance for him to redeem his very own existence while trying to make the world a better place. He also thought of the chance as a way for him to return the favor he had gained from his mother's friend, who had this strong connection with the Acolytes. With those ideas in mind, he paid the price of being one of the Genesis and carried the responsibility as the vessel of Chastity.
